Personal info
My name is Lars A. Englund (a k a lodestar or zion). I'm currently studying for a Masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering at at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first 4 years in Gothenburg I lived in an overwhelming 14 m^2 apartment in a 14 floor student complex called "Ostkupan". My place was on the 13:nth floor so there was quite a nice view..:)
Now I live together with my girlfriend Petra in a nice apartment in Kungsladugård, Gothenburg.

Before i came to Gothenburg i lived in Överhärde, Valbo, Gävle and studied at the Natural Science program at Vasaskolan. That was a period of my life that was very very fun and gave a lot of experience and great memories and friends. I was active in several associations NF (the Natural Science association), VADA (the schools computer association), FAA (the astronomy association) and VROK (a role playing and strategy games association). I even started the last one myself, together with some friends, but it died off as quickly as it started...:)

After school I was drafted for the Swedish army within the civil sector. For four months I was trained to be a ställverksreparatör (power station repairman) in Porjus (a very northern part of Sweden). Lots of fun with climbing 25 m high high voltage poles, welding and constructing in -30 degrees Celsius. When I had become a full fledged repairman I worked and studied short periods, in wait for the coming studies at Chalmers.
I took a year of from my studies to try other things. To mention a few things I traveled some, worked at different places (constructing electromechanical experiments for Universeum, handling cargo for SAS, freelance PHP/MySQL/Flash development etc) and started two consultant companies, one of which is doing quite well.

I have a quite large interest in art and computers, which i hope shines through this site..:) Drawing, panting and coding are fun things to do, if only there was more time.. Other things i like to do is go climbing, skate aggressive inlines, ride snowboard, play badminton, swim, dive or just work out :)
